TheNorthernLight
TheNorthernLight has been following the Dons since the late 70’s (he remembers watching Bobby Clark, Drew Jarvie and Ian Scanlon play). He’s seen at first hand what they’re capable of and has never forgotten skiving off school to cheer the team home from Gothenburg.
Since then it’s been mostly downhill, but like any true supporter, he’s stuck with them through the good times and the disproportionately more frequent bad times. From his plastic seat at football grounds all over Scotland, he’s experienced more ups and downs with the Dons than a dockside hooker on a see-saw.
TheNorthernLight is on the right side of 40 (if only just) and likes talking in first-person, plural personal pronouns (or so he’s told anyway). Apart from Aberdeen FC, he has a fondness for all things Highland League and dislikes the colour orange, particularly the hue worn by Dundee United. It follows therefore that he doesn’t care much for Dundee United either. I wonder if we’re allowed to say we also run Inside Left, a blog about Scottish football? Probably not ..
Interesting Aberdeen FC related fact #1: When TheNorthernLight’s house was up for sale, Gordon Strachan came to view it. Though Strachan’s wife liked the kitchen and the stunning vistas of south Aberdeen from the attic window they didn’t buy it, the tight gits.
Interesting Aberdeen FC related fact #2: TheNorthernLight once sold Willie Miller a WWF video at the Our Price Video store in the St. Nicholas Shopping Center in Aberdeen. Miller went down a few pegs in his estimation that day.
